Testimonials
Mrs. O’Rourke was, by far, one of the most invaluable people involved in my college process. Her familiarity with the intricacies of the process, acquired through both personal and profession experience, truly allows her to offer valuable insight in all the different elements the journey holds. From financial aid and scholarships to editing the applications themselves, Mrs. O offered me guidance and support every step of the way. She encouraged me to aim high and dream big, and without her gently pushing me out of my comfort zone and perceived expectations, I never would have applied to (or attended!) Stanford University.
She helped communicate clearly and concisely with my parents about my expectations from college and kept us all on the same page throughout the process, helping us avoid the tension that easily could have occurred. She knew me well, and thus, knew exactly how to support me. She allowed me to guide the process but offered me the advice and sounding board I needed as I began to figure out what my priorities were, and which schools matched them. While, Mrs. O became a surrogate parent to me while I was at boarding school, I know that the care and attention she paid to my process is not unique. She has helped so many students find the right fit for them, and anyone would be lucky to have her as a college consultant.

I had the pleasure of having Sally as my college counselor while at boarding school, and my experience could not have been better. Thousands of miles from home, her clear wisdom and expertise put my family at ease, and her calm but ever-prepared demeanor made the process as stress-free as possible. I always felt comfortable with my decisions, as Sally made sure that I had all the resources and knowledge to ask the right questions and be informed. She clearly had relationships with so many of the schools that were available to me, and was more than willing to extend that network to schools that interested me. Her smaller, focused roster of students, combined with her commitment to offering us each one-on-one attention meant that my experience could be tailored to me. That is such an asset in today’s college application process.
I was lucky enough to attend my favorite school, and I am sure that so much of my experience was guided by Sally’s steady advice. I really appreciated having her as a counselor and mentor, both while at boarding school and beyond. Thanks Sally!

Sally did an incredible job helping my son navigate the process and find a school that is a great fit for him. Specifically, he started the process thinking he might want to go to a huge university and ended up selecting a small liberal arts college—a decision which I feel was a better choice for him, but which she helped him come to on his own. Having her as my son’s counselor alleviated much of the anxiety during this normally stressful process. Sally was an excellent communicator with my husband, myself, and our son. He is not the most talkative young man, but Sally was really able to develop a rapport with him. I have heard from many other parents that they have been extremely happy with Sally as their child’s counselor as well.

Sally is a superb public speaker who has splendid rapport with the students and parents she serves. Her knowledge about the admission process and her calm presence help families to make good decisions as they investigate colleges.
